Hart Energy: Big Demand Means Big Challenges Ahead for Power Sector
The U.S. power sector is facing rising demand from data centers, industrial growth and more. Renewable energy can partially meet this demand, but its intermittency requires support from assets like natural gas. The industry shifts underscore the importance of natural gas storage and pipeline infrastructure to ensure stable and reliable energy delivery.
Power Technology: EIA sees electricity demand, gas prices impacting US fuel mix this year
In its latest short-term energy outlook, the U.S. Energy Information Administration forecasts natural gas prices will rise by about 36% in the second half of the year. This is due to an expected increase in electricity demand coupled with a decrease in natural gas generation.
Wyoming expansion update
Earlier this month, four gas conditioning towers were set at our Wyoming expansion project. These towers treat natural gas from the reservoir to ensure it meets pipeline quality specs, and is ready for customer end-use. We’re still on track to finish the project later this year – expanding authorized working gas capacity at our Clear Creek facility to 20 BCf to meet growing demand for natural gas.
Spire Midstream sponsors Uinta County 4-H robotics program
Spire Midstream was honored to sponsor the Uinta County 4-H Robotics program, a leading initiative dedicated to developing young talent in robotics, coding and engineering. The program offers hands-on, practical experiences that foster a deep passion for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. Our donation and support helped expand this impactful program, equipping youth with the essential skills needed in today's technology-driven landscape. We are proud to contribute to the development of future innovators and leaders!
Spire Midstream moderates energy adequacy panel at NWGA Annual Energy Conference
In June, Spire Midstream Senior Commercial Analyst Matthew Proietti moderated the Regional Energy Adequacy panel at NWGA’s Annual Energy Conference in Sunriver, Oregon.
Matthew was joined by leaders across the transmission, pipeline and utility industries to discuss the energy adequacy impact of renewables integration and evolving regulations in the Pacific Northwest’s energy market. The group explored these regional transformations and measures that can be taken to ensure a stable and reliable energy future. It was a great session!
