The Missouri River is a vital asset to the state of Missouri, providing drinking water to communities and a highway for many goods and agricultural products. Flowing more than 2,341 miles from Missouri to Montana, it’s home and water source for a significant portion of wildlife. So, as a regional and national treasure, its conservation and restoration is key.

Organizations like Missouri River Relief work diligently to restore this important resource. Over the past few years, Spire has provided grants to support Missouri River Relief and has hosted Day for Good events, offering Spire employees the opportunity to use all or a portion of their volunteer service hours to aid with river cleanup. 

Most recently, Spire provided a grant to the nonprofit for a large-scale cleanup event in Kansas City. During this event, volunteers collected 8.36 tons of trash over an 18-mile stretch of river. 

On why Spire spent a recent Day for Good caring for the river
