Spire volunteers lift spirits at Ronald McDonald Houses in Kansas City
For critically ill children and their families who travel for specialized pediatric medical care, finding a place to stay can add to the stress. In Kansas City, Mo., the three Ronald McDonald Houses offer a welcome resource.
Since 1981, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City (RMHC-KC) has provided comfortable lodging in a caring and uplifting environment. And conveniently located near healthcare facilities, families are close to the care they need.
“Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City alleviates the worry and expense of finding a close, comfortable and affordable place for a family to stay while their child receives the medical care they need.”

Offering a helping hand
In May, a group of 11 Spire employees spent the day helping the maintenance crew at Ronald McDonald House Charities get some big items checked off their spring to-do list. During the day-long project, the Spire team beautified the charity’s campus grounds by weeding and mulching the vegetable garden where healthy foods will be grown for families staying there during their children's medical treatments.
This is the sixth year in a row that Spire has volunteered for a spring cleanup day to help create and maintain an uplifting environment for families.
